Saint-Rome-de-Tarn
The well known history of St Rome de Tarn begins back in the Vth century during the evangelisation of the Rouergue Region by Saint Amans a prelate of Rodez.
During the Xth century,
Au Xe siècle, its inhabitants have to build a fort and defensive walls in order to be able to face the assaults of the invadors. Several ruins of the fortified gates still stand as witnesses of the past. Ruins of the bridge built during the XIth century can also still be seen.
